Crafting turns what your kingdom gathers into what it needs next. Onchain gameplay brings two kinds. Everyday crafting happens at your own Workshop: it always succeeds and never costs SOL. Vehicle NFT crafting is different: you choose a vehicle and its tier, the game shows your chance of success before you pay, and each attempt costs a 0.05 SOL app fee.
Onchain gameplay is in development on devnet; dates will be announced. The in-game crafting screens are still being built; the diagrams on this page are composed from the art made for them.

At a glance
- Everyday crafting at your Workshop: Forge Ingots, refined realm materials and kits. It always succeeds, there is no SOL fee, and you spend only the ingredients.
- Vehicle NFT crafting: four vehicle families, each in four tiers. You pick the family and the exact tier, and the game shows that tier's recipe, every ingredient and the chance of success before you pay. The recipes will be announced.
- The fee: every vehicle attempt costs 0.05 SOL, whether it succeeds or not. Network, account and random-draw costs are shown separately.
- A failed vehicle attempt returns no materials. Sometimes it drops Crystal Fragments.
- Crafting is never taxed. The island tax is taken once, when resources are first gathered, never again when you refine or craft them.
- Free bases and Land Deed bases use the same Workshop recipes.

Everyday crafting at your Workshop
Your Workshop is a new building on your base. It makes three kinds of things, and every recipe works the same way:
Choose a recipe and how many. The Workshop shows the ingredients and the time it needs. You need a finished Workshop on that base.
Start the job. The ingredients are used up when the job starts, and a started job can't be cancelled. For refined materials and kits, each base is planned to run one job at a time.
Get the result. Refined materials and kits land in your base by themselves when the job ends. Forge Ingots are ready to collect at the Workshop.
There is no failure roll, no SOL fee and no Gems fee. Exact ratios, batch sizes and times are still being balanced, so the game shows the real numbers when the update ships.
Every realm: raw to refined
Each of the eight realms has one raw resource and one refined material made from it.

| Realm | Raw | Refined |
|---|---|---|
- Several raw units make one refined unit. The exact ratio is still being balanced.
- Raw resources come from your Realm Harvester and from expeditions. See Expeditions and vehicles.
- Refining moves your goods somewhere safer. Raw resources sit in your Keep, where a raid that destroys the Keep takes 1% of each. Refined materials are protected and raids never take them.
Forge Ingots and kits

| Recipe | Ingredients | For |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 SHARDS | Commit it at the Gold Forge for KEEP mining. See KEEP mining. | |
| Heartwood Beams + Thornsilk + SHARDS | expeditions | |
| Prismstone Lens + Frostglass | expeditions | |
| Sunstone Blocks + Embercore | expeditions |
- The Forge Ingot recipe is fixed: 10,000 SHARDS make one ingot, every time. Forge Ingots are a material, never an NFT or a token.
- How many ingots you can cast and keep waiting is tied to your KEEP mining capacity. A wallet's free bases can commit up to 2 ingots a day in total at the Gold Forge; the casting and holding limits are a larger allowance tied to that capacity, and a base on a Land Deed has more room that grows with the base. The game shows your exact limits. See Workshop and Forge Ingots.
- Kits are supplies for expeditions. Exact amounts, and what each kit does, will be announced.
Vehicle NFT crafting
Advanced vehicles carry more, or come home sooner, than the free starter boat. Each one is an NFT you craft, then keep, trade or install on a base. Each family and tier has its own recipe, and the recipes will be announced.
The four families
All sixteen vehicles are pictured under Two kinds of crafting.
| Family | By | Good at |
|---|---|---|
| Survey Balloon | air | lighter loads; higher tiers carry more |
| Cargo Cutter | water | bulk loads; higher tiers carry more |
| Courier Airship | air | the quickest trips; higher tiers come back sooner |
| Expedition Barge | water | long trips with the biggest loads |
Families trade speed for cargo, and every advanced trip uses a few raw resources as supplies. These profiles are still being balanced; exact cargo, speeds and supplies will be shown in the game. The free starter boat can't be crafted and is never an NFT. See Expeditions and vehicles.
An attempt, step by step

- Choose the family and the exact tier. The game shows the recipe and the chance of success for that tier. A success always gives you that vehicle at that tier, never a different one.
- Check your ingredients. Before you craft, the game lists every ingredient by name, how many you have, how many you still need, and where to find the rest.
- Choose where it runs: the always-open public crafting queue or, once Solana Island opens, a player-run workshop there. Both use the same recipes, the same odds and the same fee.
- Approve the fee. Each attempt costs the 0.05 SOL app fee, success or not. Network, account and random-draw costs are shown separately before you sign. Your ingredients are set aside for this attempt.
- The draw. Each attempt is decided by a verifiable random draw. The recipe, the odds and the terms are fixed before anyone can know the result, and retrying never re-rolls it.
- The result. On a success the vehicle NFT is yours, even if minting it takes a moment. On a failure the ingredients are used up and no materials come back.
Crystal Fragments from a failed attempt
Crystal Fragments are a rare resource with a limited supply. An unsuccessful attempt can sometimes drop some, under three rules:
- Your own play unlocks the chance. Only your own play can unlock it, and it is set before you start the attempt.
- One shared, limited supply. Every fragment in the game, from any source, comes out of one shared budget.
- Paying more never buys more chances. Extra attempts don't add fragment chances.
The chance and the amounts will be announced. What fragments are used for will be announced too.
If something breaks
If an attempt fails for a proven technical reason before any result exists, you get one replacement attempt without paying the app fee again. Network and draw costs still apply. An unlucky result is never a technical failure, and a result that already exists is never re-rolled.
After crafting: trade, install, restore, upgrade

- Keep it or trade it. An unused vehicle is an NFT in your wallet. You can trade it for SOL on NFT marketplaces, with the same 5% creator royalty as Land Deeds (honoured by marketplaces).
- Install it. Choose a free 2×2 spot for its berth, then burn the NFT. The spot is saved before the burn, so a lost connection can never cost you a second NFT. Free bases can install vehicles too.
- It belongs to the base for good. An installed vehicle stays with its base, including when the Land Deed changes hands. It can't be turned back into an NFT.
- One per family. A base holds up to 5 vehicles, one per family, including the free starter boat.
- It rests after 100 expeditions. Then it stays inactive until you restore it.
- Restore: once it rests, burn one NFT of the same family and its current tier. Its expeditions come back.
- Upgrade: burn a duplicate of the same family and current tier to raise it one tier, up to tier 4. It keeps the expeditions it has left. An upgrade doesn't restore a vehicle that is resting.
Crafting on Solana Island
Vehicle NFTs are crafted at an NFT workshop, never at your home Workshop. Solana Island, a special island off the western shore of Solana Reach, will hold player-run workshops. Players who qualify through their own play get a licence by a transparent draw, with a limited number per player, and craft for everyone else. The public crafting queue is always open beside them, so you never need a workshop holder.
- Same recipes, same odds, same fee at a player's workshop and at the public queue.
- You can't buy a workshop. Licences go to players who qualify through play.
- Licence terms, the draw and how the fee is shared with a workshop holder will be announced.
Solana Island workshops are PLANNED for a later stage of onchain gameplay. See Solana Island and special sites.
What crafting never does
- It's never taxed. The island tax is taken once, on newly gathered resources. Refining, crafting and trading never trigger it again. See KEEP mining.
- It never hides the odds. Everyday crafting has no chance at all. Vehicle crafting shows the recipe and your odds before you pay, and the result is decided by a verifiable draw.
- Paying never beats playing. Extra attempts never buy extra fragment chances.
- It never takes a started job back. Ingredients are spent when a job starts, so a job can't be used as a temporary hiding place you undo after a raid.

Do I pay SOL to refine resources?
No. Everyday crafting at your Workshop has no SOL fee. You spend only the ingredients.
Can I cancel a job I've started?
No. The ingredients are used up when the job starts.
What are the odds of crafting a vehicle?
They will be announced. The game shows the chance of success for the exact family and tier before you pay.
